More Dirt

I got another load of dirt hauled up to the gate area. I forgot to take a picture of where I dumped it. Maybe tomorrow. The starter solenoid on the zero turn failed last week. The parts store had several replacements for the mower model so I took out the old one so they can match it up.

Tequila walked through the pasture since the gate was open.

It was a little dirty

I brushed some of the dirt off ro see the nuts.

That should do it.

I'm making sort of a dent in it.

I got a load of compost for the edge of the new slabs.

The grass should like the compost to grow in.

Dirt

I started moving the dirt from where we box bladed by the equipment barn. There was more there than I thought. I put the first load by the gate to the upper Reece pasture. The cattle had torn it up so it's been needing some fill.

I'll probably scrape some more off after I clear this pile.

One dump cart didn't make much of a dent.

There was a low fog this morning.

The girls said hi to the cows.

Foggy horses.

Ram Gate

We hung gates today. Tw o were on the lower shed in the back and one was the bull gate for the ram pasture. Last year during breeding Jeffie tried to smash heads with the other rams through the gates. He broke them. We replaced the one into the pond pasture. Today we did the other one.

The ewes were okay with the sheep table corral.

I took the tools down on the four wheeler.

I don't know, I wasn't paying attention.

These pictures are us measuring and drilling.

They couldn't meet on the top because of the ground slope.
Next was the ram gate.

"Before"

We had to block off our work area.

Bull gates are a lot heavier than regular gates.

The old hinge pins were too small.

They had to go. The top one was in the wrong spot so we drilled a new hole for it.

The new pins had to go all the way through the post.

Kathy was taking the pictures.

Prefect fit.

After lunch we went down and finished up the shock wire on the pond pasture. The corner connection wasn't right and it was causing Bill to lose sleep.

Next we moved the hay cradle in the cow pasture and scraped off the old, wet, smelly hay from last season.

Not exactly clean but it's good for hay.

Then we went behind the barn and scraped out a swale to help divert the run-off.

Kathy was LOLing with her BFF. Thanks for taking all the pictures today!
