Ford

Andy and I went down to try and figure out if there was a way to get the lawn tractor across the creek. Bahloo helped. It's too deep so we either need to build a bridge or put in a gate to the lower area. We should be able to tie in a gate near the driveway gate.

Lisa was making dinner. Piper was her witness.

Bahloo helped Andy check the big rock.

Brush Cut

Lisa put Andy to work today. He went down and mowed the upper part of the front pasture. It took a while because it needed more than one pass to get most of the weeds knocked down. He couldn't get the tractor through the creek so the lower part is still uncut. We got some snow tonight. I went to let the dogs out and everything was white again. Maybe 4 or 5 inches so far.

Nice Day

We had nice weather yesterday and today. It was in the 70s yesterday and the mid 60s today. The farrier came to do the hooves. He got Bahloo done even though she would have preferred to skip the whole thing. Sundown is still too skittish. We would have let him have a go at her if she wasn't so close to her due date.

I played in the poo while the farrier worked. The compost heap needed to be stirred. I just moved it from one pile into another pile. Next time I'll just move it back. We'll probably start a garden before too long.

Media Computer

The media center computer stopped working so I had to fix it. The old video card was getting hot and the picture would freeze up whenever you did something video intensive like watching a movie. Being able to watch a movie is important for a media center computer. I worked on it yesterday but still need a couple of parts. The old power supply couldn't supply the correct voltages so I had to order a new one.

The inside of the old computer before ripping its guts out. The new guts. Sorry Kathy, I went with AMD. I wanted a quad-core and the Intel ones are kind of pricey.

Gutless computer box. The new motherboard.

The pretty blue memory, 4GB.

The chip with heat sink and fan.

All the wires plugged in. The first POST. I turned off the silly POST splash screen. I hate those.

Windows loading. Windows installed properly but after it ran for a while or if I did anything beyond system idle it would throw a BSOD with a 0x101 error. This turned out to be associated with power so after little more research and consultation with an AMD guru I know (Leslie), I ordered a new power supply.

Piper's Seat Belt

Lisa put Piper's seat belt on today. She'll be much safer now. She has us trained to take her along when we go anywhere. She'll be bummed once it gets warm and she'll have to stay behind. Bahloo got exiled to the far pasture. She was trying to run the mini down. Sundown was trying to kick but she just isn't big enough. She's getting slower too. She needs her hooves done and she's getting big from the pregnancy. After she ran Sundown she tried to strike Heidi while she was laying down in the sun. Heidi got away but it was unpleasant. Sorry Cathryn but your horse is mean.

The baby birds are getting big. They're coming out of the nest now.

Almost Full

We've had a lot of rain, ice and snow so naturally the pond is filling up. I think it went over the top in the low spot. I'll have to throw some rocks in there to keep it from eroding too much. Andy left yesterday morning and got home around 10:30 last night. It was nice having him around. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of him in the future. When he got up yesterday he saw a mouse in our laundry room. I set a trap last night and caught it. I'll set another trap tonight in case there was more than one.

Full pond and the low spot.

The compost pile is getting full too. Another shot of the new stall. Lisa has been feeding Sundown in there so she'll get used to it. She is due in the first part of April.
