That Fish

The big school of redfish were out there again. Bill and Kathy came over to Dad's and we hung out and visited. I fished in between rain storms.

Cats

I fished for a while this morning but didn't catch anything. This evening I was back out there. I met Dad's new neighbor,John. He came out with his pole too. There was a school of redfish tailing right off the dock. We were both casting into them for about 30 minutes when I got one on. I played it for about fifteen minutes when it ran up under the dock and the line cut on the barnacles. Better luck next time.
We had sandwiches from Sonny's BBQ for dinner.
After dinner we went for a walk There were cats everywhere.

At some point I left my phone unattended and unlocked. It was in a trusted location. What could happen?

Air Show

We had a nice day. Dad and I went to Walmart and Aldi this morning to get supplies. Bill and Kathy came by after lunch. Kathy and I went to Ollie's to look for a fishing pole and a hat for me. Nothing there but I found a nice combo at Walmart. Yes, I was in Walmart twice today.
The weather was warm and humid but no rain. We listened to the jets and tried to see the air show but it was too far away.
Dad's rock garden complete with Keokuk geodes.
Kathy.
It really was ducks.

Florida

I'm in Florida this week visiting Dad and Bill and Kathy.
Charlotte NC from the sky.
Clouds over the ocean
Orlando on approach.

I mowed the driveway yesterday so it wouldn't be a jungle when I got home.
You can see the tiny pears.

One Down

I got two more of the big logs split, well pre/semi split. They're in the large size like the others. That finishes out the first row of them. Three rows to go.

Ok, the first row didn't have the upper level of smaller huge logs.

It seems like there should be more.

Nike has been going in the feed bunk area on his own. I was surprised he didn't seem to mind being in there. We're hoping he won't be too hard to load.

I hadn't posted any llama pictures lately.

Or rams.

Fun Bobby

I didn't get a lot done today. I worked later than usual and the weather wasn't very pleasant. We got the ram lamb castrated that we missed on Sunday. He wasn't being very cooperative about it. Lisa made fried rice with smoked pork and mushrooms. It was fantastic!

Bobby is doing well. He seems to be adjusting to the bottle and still gets to hang out with his mom.

Poppy and Luna out in front.

This one was born today. There is actually a second one, you can see its legs in the upper right.

Making Ready

On April 27 Nike will be going to his final destination. Since I'll be out of town all next week we wanted to get the trailer in position for loading. It's a little hard to back it in where we need it so the door opens and the side gate stands fast. This way it will be ready on Tuesday when I get home and Nike will have gotten used to it being there.

Poppy was waiting for me to get moving.

Luna always pulls up the rear.

The lambs can barely see over the higher grass.

It doesn't seem like it would be all that hard to put there.

Door open and the gate on the left slams against the trailer so he'll have to hit it hard to go through. If he really wants to he'll go right through it, but we aren't going to tell him that.

Cleaning the tub so she can put the bigger one in the bottom for the two cows.

Ready.

Luna is just barking, she isn't as mean as she looks.
