The Farrier came out today. Lisa called him and he came right over. He lives on White Turley Pike just up the road and had come home for lunch. Since we were so close and the mud was still frozen he got us in. He was recommended by Barb Curtis our real estate lady. He showed Lisa a thing or two about handling Bahloo and she got it by the second hoof. He really did a great job and he'll be coming back regularly.
Be sure to look at Kathy's blog at http://kathyber.blogspot.com/. She got some pictures of the Chilhuly exhibit in Phoenix.
Their hoofs look very nice now!!!
ReplyDeleteThe horses feet look really awesome. He's going to come back the end of January. I was a bad mom and didn't get them done as soon as I should have. It went way better than I expected.
ReplyDeletePeople up here will sometimes only get them done two, three times a year, depending on the surface they're on, we've got a TON of surface rock, so they'll tend to keep them worn down on their own. when i trim jazz(and pheonix once i get him done to get the shoes off)I leave their feet a little bit long so they have the extra wear spots. What happened with Bahloo? I've heard she's been a bit of a bossy mare.
ReplyDeleteBahloo IS a handful, but this guy knew what he was doing. He got her under control and showed me how to hold her. Her feet took longer than Heidi's but hers were worse too. Heidi did extremely well, no fussing at all. The mini took one look and left the building! I was very encouraged!
