Chicken Report
Thousands of people have requested the status of the baby chicks. They are all doing well and getting quite large. We had to move them to the wading pool (sorry Charlie). They are jumping now so we’ll need to put a cover on it soon.
The WPC is holding up the light.
They are getting tail feathers.

Hog
Eddie let me borrow his bush hog. It took a while but I got all the pastures mowed. It was pretty thick.
It sits a little close to the tires.
Getting it started.
Engage the PTO and rev it up.
The chickens are doing great. We’re getting fresh eggs every day.
Last year Bill scared the crows away from the tomatoes. He couldn’t make it this year.

Barred Rocks
They were having a sale on chicken today in Harrodsburg. We got a dozen. Anne said she wanted us to get her some Barred Rocks so here they are. I know you said you would take five Anne, you’re getting six. They’ll be here in July waiting for you.
They’re all baby hens. They should produce large brown eggs.
They should look like Bob and Abigail when they grow up.

Smooth Driveway
I borrowed Eddie’s box blade today. The driveway hasn’t been this smooth in a long time. He said I could borrow his bush hog too. I’ll go over tomorrow and get it. The pastures are getting pretty deep.
The clematis is still blooming.
It was cutting well but looking at these pictures, I should have let the top link out a little to level the box. Mr. Reese said I should get a hydraulic top link since I have the two remotes. Then I could adjust the box on the fly. Maybe when I get my own blade…
There was a lot of material in the hump between the ruts. I was able to cut it with the blade and deposit it in the ruts. It smoothed out the washboard bumps too.
Everything is parked inside now. The van is on the right, the Kia on the left in the garage. We still have a tarp on the tractor port but it works.
