The last time Nelson was over delivering hay he asked if we wanted a rooster to go with our hens. One of the hens acts a little broody so we thought maybe we could raise some meat chickens. We’ll give it a shot. I don’t know what kind of chicken he is. He’s barred like the rocks but his neck is longer. Nelson thought he was a Dominique.
He’s still young. Nelson said he just started crowing. We didn’t hear him crow today but he was getting chased around by the hens all day. If he works out we’ll have to give him a name. Any thoughts?
Okay, they’re a lot cuter now. Five day old rabbits are prettier than five hour old rabbits.
The baby bunnies are definitely prettier now. Are there 7 of them?
ReplyDeleteYes, she still has all 7 of them. She isn't overly fond of me messing with them yet. I've tried explaning about not biting the hand that feeds you!
ReplyDeleteThe baby bunnies are soooo cute now!
ReplyDeleteLet's see a name for the rooster...how about Foghorn Leghorn, Foggie for short.
But Kathy, he's not a Leghorn chicken, those are the big white ones... City folk, he he.
ReplyDeleteok, how about Rooster Cogburn?
ReplyDeleteOr, Darryl to go with your Larry's?
