We went over to Maria’s and picked up her ewes today. We took our trailer over but they just wouldn’t get in it. Her trailer was there so we tried it and they walked right in. It is bigger and has a ramp.
Maria and Lisa herding the sheep out of their containment area.
Maria’s chickens are pretty. That’s her trailer on the left.
We had to take our trailer back to the house and drop me off since I was on a long lunch break going over there. Lisa went to Tractor Supply and got a new receiver for the hitch, it needed 2 5/16” and all we had was 2”. We already had the sheep onboard so Lisa went over and hooked it up and drove it back here. You should be impressed, it was quite a feat she did. That trailer is heavy and the roads are hilly and narrow and she was driving an old truck with a stick shift. We just left it on the driveway so we wouldn’t get stuck in the mud. You may notice in the pictures that the snow is gone. It isn’t actually gone, it just melted and turned the dirt into mud. We’ll take the trailer back to Maria in the morning.
Yes, that is a chicken on the back of the sheep.
Ewes in their new pasture. Daffodil got to join them.
She is much younger and smaller.
Louie checking out his flock. We’re counting on you Louie!
They moved around the pasture while we were out there. I think they like it.
Larry wanted to play with Daffodil. Which she might have done if he didn’t out weigh her by 500 Lbs
We hope Daffodil is okay out there. She’s been living the easy life in the garage for a long time. She seemed lonely so this should be good for her.
Yeah!! Now Daffodil can be a sheepie again! No one to keep me company while I do the bunnies. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteThe chicken was a nice touch. Does she live with the sheep too?
