Ruffles

We are dog sitting for a lady Lisa knows from the sheltie club. Her name is Ruffles and she's a three year old sheltie.

Foggy Morning

With the record rain and flooding followed by a cold front, we've been having some foggy mornings.
Poppy and Cassie wanted to help me in the barnyard.
It wasn't much fun to drive in.

Flood of Bunnies

I came home from work yesterday and had been raining. I missed the storm but I got to see the flood.

Heather got hold of some bunnies. Lisa had some empty cages so she brought them here. There are six in the pictured cage and six more in death row.

Horse Lawn

I mowed the area above the pond close before Heather's horses came this summer. I haven't mowed it since so they have kept it cropped short.

The mower has been staying in the barn. Now that the splitting is finished we can move it back to the tractor port.

The chicken picture is for Cathryn.

Ready for Winter

Andy came over this morning to finish splitting the wood. We should have plenty for the winter. Next winter too probably. I plan to make another cage to hold the wood chunks. Thanks to Andy, Bill and Kathy for helping with all the firewood processing.  We really appreciate it!
This rack is all from the dead fall after the big wind storm.
This one is new. It's 8 feet long and 6 feet high. I had to make a little bridge so we can reach the power outlet.

These racks are mostly the wood from the saw mill in Winchester. That turned out to be a great source.

Backyard at Sunset

It has still been getting hot every day. The heat should be breaking soon since fall is now here.  We'll be dancing sky clad around the bonfire tonight to celebrate the equinox.

New Grill

Our old grill finally gave up. The new one is working out so far. It's a Char-Broil.
Lisa found a good deal on pork chops.

Cassie as a Cutie

Here's a couple from back when Cassie was cute.

Pears

Our pear tree is doing well.  The pears are
mostly ripe. They are really sweet and juicy. We took the van in to the mechanic.  Its fan wasn't shutting off. I had to pull the battery cable to shut it off.

Luna was acting as the fun police.

Split Wood

Andy came by today and split a bunch of firewood. It was a rainy day and he had been sent home from work. The old dog in the garage is a sweet elderly rescue.
