First Lamb 2022

The first lamb was born today. It was three days earlier than it should have been.

More Work on the Berry Cage

I finished making the boxes for the cage. I'll get the weed cloth down soon. The compost pile had a bunch of little sprouts in it. I'll need to turn it over pretty soon too.

I used the old folding table for a wheelbarrow ramp.

The boxes are 1x6 fence boards with stakes to hold them.

I'll need to get something to put in the aisle. I was going to use the plastic but it catches on stuff and it will probably be slick when it's wet.

Tool Chest and Dogs

I got the wheels swapped around on the tool chest so I was able to get it installed. I had to do some rearranging but I got it in place and got the tools put away.

Poppy always races down to the walnut tree to find a stick for me to throw.

There is usually a good throwing stick there.

Tequila got to it first so Taylor and her had a tug of war for a while.

The Spring is Here

I skipped winter and came straight to spring. Since we had the wettest and snowiest winter of all time we didn't get much interesting content. You can only take so many pictures of snow, mud and wet dogs. Now it's spring. The weather is warm, the mud is drying and things will start to happen.

I started working on the berry cage. It's Cathryn's old chicken tractor and I'm going to use it to protect the berries from the birds.

The first step was tilling along the outside edges.

I used fence boards to border the planting area. The inner boards haven't been fixed in place yet. I need to trim them so the lip of the door fits over them. After they bloom we'll put bird blocker netting over the wire.

Lisa picked up two blueberries and two blackberries. I think I'll get a couple of raspberries too.

I got a new tool cabinet at Harbor Freight. I put the swivel castors on the wrong end so I'll need to swap them so it will slide into the space better.
