Duck Farm

We decided to try ducks this years so we went to the duck farm in Mt. Sherman. We met the farmers, Amy and Doug and picked out our ducklings.

Lisa picked up this rabbit hutch in Georgetown on Thursday.

This was the sky Friday evening after the storms went through. The shiny stuff is water running through the pastures and down the driveway. There was a lot of damage in Kentucky from tornadoes, we made it through okay.

On the way to Mt. Sherman we stopped in Taylorsville and picked up this old freezer. It doesn’t work so the guy only wanted $25 for it. It was clean and dry and will be great for keeping the animal feed in. The mice have been chewing the feed sacks again.

Piper got to go with us today.

Handicap Parking Fail. Do you see it?

Doug and Amy led us back to their farm. They had been to town to get a load of feed. Every animal in the place, and there were many, knew where they had been.

We thought it was cute when this goat jumped on the trailer.

This one chewed on the straps. The novelty of goats climbing on trailers had worn off by this time.

The goats climbed on the hay stack too. There was a lot of goats. Doug told us how many of each animal they had, I don’t remember the numbers but it was more than a few.

They tossed out some shell corn and everyone came running.

The dog was eating corn too.

The duckling transport.

  The temporary duckling habitat.

These are Muscovy ducks.

  1. Glad you guys are ok after the storms. Where are you going to keep the ducks after they get bigger?

  2. I like the picture of the handicap parking spot fail. It seems to be missing a ramp.
