Drunk Driver

Last night, after midnight, we heard someone banging on the front door. The girls were barking their heads off so I went to see what it was. I was working 15 changes that had to be complete by 5 am so we were up anyway. There was a drunk guy on the steps saying he ran through our fence in his truck. I made them go over to the back door, there was a young man with the drunk guy who was sober. He had apparently come to pick up the drunk and drove him up to our house to tell us about the fence. That was nice, I guess, but it was a dry, straight piece of road. It was pointless to call the police at this time because he could say he hadn't started drinking until after the kid picked him up. Lisa went down to make sure the horses were safe and I went back to work. The fence that is down is in the pasture to the west of our new fence, the horse's pasture was okay.


He took out about 80 or 90 feet of wire and 4 posts.

Somehow after he went through the fence he straightened up and traveled parallel to the road and slammed into our new stretcher. The stretcher brace post is loose and the wire needs to be re-tightened. We'll get Eric back out here to do that. We got drunky's name and phone number. He'll be getting a bill.
